Dale Arthur Niewedde was born March 23, 1930, in Seward County to Arthur and Amanda (Luebbe) Niewedde and passed away on March 17, 2014, in Seal Beach, Calif. Dale was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran (Middle Creek) Church of rural Seward.
Dale graduated from Pleasant Dale High School and attended the University of Nebraska.
He was united in marriage to Lavonne Vollstedt on Oct. 15, 1950, at Zion Lutheran Church of rural Emerald.
To this union three children were born, Debbie, Denise and David. Dale and Lavonne moved to California in 1953. Dale had a career as an insurance agent in California.
Dale is survived by his wife, Lavonne; daughters Debbie Nehme and Denise Borrego; nine grandchildren; several grandchildren; and his sister and brother-in-law, Lola and Raymond Schildt of Seward. He was preceded in death by his son David in 1967; his parents Arthur and Amanda; brother Dean Niewedde; and sister Lois Vollstedt.
Memorial services are to be held in California on May 3.
