The CPS school board accepted the resignation of Ken Booth, current elementary principal, at its Jan. 10 meeting.

“We appreciate all he has done,” Superintendent Seth Ford said.

The district is advertising for a new principal, and Ford said he hopes the district has a new one hired by the middle of February.

In other business, the board:

• lected officers: Jason Richters as president, Mark Avery as vice president, Bryce Borchers as secretary and Doug Cast as treasurer;

• eviewed the district’s building rental fees;

• evisited its Return to Learn plan, which is done every six months;

• pproved the summer driving rates of $175 for 2022-23;

• pproved the 2022-23 negotiated agreement for salary and fringe benefits with an addition of $500 to the base salary;

• pproved the purchase of a 2017 John Deere gator, which the district has rented from AKRS, for $14,000; and

• n a session before the regular meeting, reviewed the data from meetings on the district’s strategic plan. Ford said the administration will use the data to set the framework and priorities with input from Nebraska Association of School Boards, which is helping the district update its plan.

The board’s next meeting will be Monday, Feb. 14.
