Christine Ruth Hoag was born May 30, 1952, in Yuma, Colorado, to Oliver William and Naida (Bentz) Keiry and passed away Jan. 18, 2021, in Lincoln, at the age of 68 years, 7 months and 19 days. Christine grew up on a dairy farm outside of Nisland, South Dakota, where she attended school and graduated from Newell High School with the Class of 1970.

Christine attended Rockmont College in Denver, Colorado, and later attended Parks Business School. She worked at several places in the accounting areas. Christine met David Hoag at church while in Denver. On March 25, 1978, David and Christine were united in marriage in Nisland. After their marriage, they moved to Kearney, where Dave began working at the police department and Christine worked at the hospital in accounting. Their marriage was blessed with three children. The family moved to Seward in 1995, where Christine began working at Memorial Hospital in 1993 to present and Dave began working at the Seward Police Department. Christine enjoyed sewing, making dolls and being part of a doll club. She also loved doing many different arts and crafts. Christine attended Hillcrest Evangelical Free Church where she enjoyed helping the youth groups and attending her bible study.

Christine was preceded in death by her father, Oliver William Keiry.

Survivors cherishing her memory are her husband, Dave Hoag, Seward; children, Carissa Hoag, Seward, Brandon Hoag, Lincoln, Derek Hoag and girlfriend, Sami Benjamin, Garrison, North Dakota; grandchildren, Hali Bicket, Marshall Bicket, Oliver Hoag; mother, Naida Keiry, Nisland; siblings and spouses, Cheryl (Steve) Gilmore, Nisland, Steven (Kela) Keiry, Nisland, Stewart (Barbara) Keiry, Wyoming and a host of friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at Hillcrest Evangelical Free Church in Seward. Condolences may be left for the family at www.zabkafuneralhome.com.
