Christine Elizabeth Mackie, of Seward, was born Nov. 26, 1929, to Blaise L. and Myrtle M. (Robinson) Diamond in Detroit, Michigan.

On Nov. 11, 1950, Christine was united in marriage to James D. Mackie at Calvary Methodist Church in Detroit, Michigan. She attended the University of Michigan, graduating in 1951. Christine worked for the City of Lincoln as a budget analyst. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, St. John Ladies Aid, League of Women Voters in Seward and General Federation Women’s Club, Seward. Christine passed away Oct. 2, 2020, in Seward, at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 6 days.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Mackie, Seward; sons, Roger (Ruth) Mackie, Rockford, Michigan, David (Tammy) Mackie, Seward, Steven (Beverly) Mackie, Columbus; daughter, Janice (Rev. Ralph) Schmidt, Fort Wayne, Indiana; grandchildren, Jon (Bonnie) Schmidt, Mark (Shannon) Schmidt, Sarah Schmidt, Paul (Megan) Mackie, Robert Mackie (Sarah Kirk), Timothy Mackie, Benjamin Mackie (fiancee, Gloria Dorschner), Christopher Mackie, Carlin Mackie (fiancée, Ayshia Stephenson), Caitlin Mackie, Curtis Mackie, Colleen Lindsay, Allison Mackie, Elijah Mackie; and four great-grandchildren. Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Blaise and Myrtle Diamond; sister and brother-in-law, Marilee and Alonzo Kelly.

Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at Volzke Funeral Home. Family will greet friends
from 6:30 to 8 p.m.). The service is 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at St. John Lutheran Church with interment at the Greenwood Cemetery.
