Charles Edward Turner was born Jan. 21, 1939, to John and Edith (Rath) Turner and passed away Oct. 10, 2021, in Casper, Wyoming, at the age of 82 years.

Charles grew up in Curtis, where he attended school. On Feb. 27, 1957, he enlisted into the U.S. Navy at the age of 17 after his mother signed for him to enter. He served on three ships, including the USS Yosemite, USS Dewey and USS Compton. On Feb. 26, 1963, Charles was honorably discharged and was awarded a Good Conduct Medal, ending on Feb. 27, 1960.

After his years of military service going overseas expanding his world, Charles was a surveyor all over the United States. He worked in several places, including the Eisenhower Tunnel in Colorado, mines in New Jersey and pipeline in Texas to name a few. He was asked to go overseas for jobs, but he would not fly. Charles was a free spirit, he loved the wide-open spaces as you can see living in Colorado, Wyoming, for 10 years, etc. He always brought gifts when he would stop in to visit, then he would be on his way to another adventure. Our brother was a quiet soul and always had a story to tell. He will be truly missed, we know he is in heaven with Mom, Dad and sister, Alyce.

He is preceded in death by his parents; infant sister, Alyce Mae and aunts and uncles.

Survivors cherishing his memory include his brothers, Richard and wife, Ruth Turner, Maywood, David Turner, Maywood, and Dale and wife, Carrie Turner, Bennington; sisters, Elaine Peterson and husband, Wendell, Osmond, Connie and husband, Terry Kamprath, Seward, Ellen and husband, Gary Kuenning, Syracuse; a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
