Carol Marie Kralik was born Sept. 5, 1947, in Norfolk, to Orval and Betty (Aughe) Hauf, and passed away unexpectedly on April 8, 2021, at her home near Seward at the age of 73 years, 7 months and 3 days.

Carol grew up in Stanton, where she attended and graduated from Stanton High School with the Class of 1965. On June 17, 1965, Carol was united in holy matrimony to Bernard “Bern” Kralik in Madison. The couple moved to Seward in 1966, where they were blessed with four children, Shad, Staci, Shawn and Shari. Carol was the co-owner of Bern’s Body Shop in Seward for 44 years and St. PJ for 22 years. Carol also owned Aspen Miniatures for three or four years. She enjoyed working on crafts, cooking for her family and she loved holidays and hosting her family. Carol loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved watching all sports. Carol was known as Grandma Rabbit. She was a longtime member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and a former member of the Seward Area Chamber of Commerce.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bern; daughter, Shari; granddaughter, Sidney Lewis; parents-in-law, Rudolph and Alice Kralik; brother-in-law, Daniel Kralik; two sisters-in-law, Diane Long and Sally Henderson.

Survivors cherishing her memory include her children, Dr. Shad (Iva) Kralik, Sarasota, Florida, Staci (Mike) Lewis, Seward, Dr. Shawn (Anne) Kralik, West Point; seven grandchildren, Kelsie Kralik, Mitchel Kralik, Brock Lewis, Shelby Lewis, Kolton Kralik, Konnor Kralik and Jackie Lazek; two great-grandchildren, Mason Lewis and Liam Lazek; two brothers, Jerry Hauf, Stanton, and Marlin Hauf, Norfolk, two sisters-in-law, Jane (Doug) Brosh, Pender, and Bonnie Soulliere, Columbus; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Mass of Christian Burial was April 12 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with a graveside service and interment at the Seward Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Kralik family for future designation. Condolences may be left for the family at /www.zabkafuneralhome.com.
