Carol Ann (Loontjer) Isaac of Seward, daughter of Edwin and Louise (Kniep) Loontjer, was born Nov. 27, 1945, in Deshler.

She attended Bethlehem Lutheran in Kiowa for eight years and then Deshler High School. Carol was united in marriage to Alvin H. Isaac of Fairbury on July 17, 1966, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Kiowa. They lived 20 years in Fairbury before moving to Seward in 1986. They attended St. John Lutheran Church in Seward, where she enjoyed attending bible studies. She also volunteered for the altar guild, sewing quilts for Orphan Grain Train and other committees. She was a member of the VFW and hospital auxiliaries. She taught special education at Seward Public Schools for 22 years. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, reading, crocheting, gardening and going for walks. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Carol passed away Dec. 6, 2020, in Lincoln, at the age of 75 years and 9 days. She is survived by her husband, Alvin H. Isaac, Seward; children, Debra (Lynn) Mohling, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Douglas (Tonya) Isaac, Omaha, and Daniel (Samantha) Isaac, Scribner; grandchildren, Jarod Mohling, Ashley Mohling, Jordan Mohling, Savannah Mohling, Christopher Isaac, Anthony (Nicole) Isaac, Aaron Isaac, Haley Isaac, Carson Isaac and Colby Isaac; brother, Michael A. Loontjer, Columbus; sisters, Leora (Jerry) Kuhlmann, Grand Island, Linda (Dwayne) Brettmann, Seward, and Rebecca (Bob) Reinke, Deshler. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Louise Loontjer; and brother, Edwin G. Loontjer.

A funeral service was Dec. 15 at St. John Lutheran Church with committal in the Greenwood Cemetery in Seward. Memorial contributions are suggested in care of the Isaac family or the donor's choice. Condolences may be left for the family at www.volzkefuneralhome.com.
