Candice Lynn “Candy” Johnson, of Seward, passed away July 6, 2021, at the age of 72 years, 5 months and 24 days. She was born Jan, 12, 1949, in Hastings.

Candy was baptized at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Hildreth, and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Seward. She graduated from Minden High School in 1967. Candy married Elwood Johnson, also of Minden, on June 7, 1968. The couple lived in Great Falls, Montana, and Lincoln, before settling in Seward in 1983. The couple was blessed with four children, Milissa, Joshua, Danielle and John. 

Candy enjoyed a long, successful career in the telecommunications industry, consistently earning top sales awards for her company and making many friends along the way with her infectious personality and genuine love of people.

Candy’s hobbies include quilting, antiquing, volunteering at church, cooking, playing bridge and spending over a month decorating every corner of the house for Christmas. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and her laughter lit up every room.  

Candy was preceded in death by her mother, Arlyce Albers (Jurgens) and cherished parents-in-law, Virgil and Bena Johnson. 

Survivors include her husband, Elwood Johnson of Seward; daughter, Milissa Wiles and son-in-law, Paul of Lincoln; son, Joshua “JD” Johnson and daughter-in-law, Lindsay of Omaha; daughter, Danielle Heider and son-in-law, Mark of The Woodlands, Texas; son, John Johnson of Lincoln; grandchildren, Katherine Wiles, Everett Wiles, Leah Heider, Elliott Heider and Mae Heider; siblings, Rodney Albers of Hildreth and Laurel Brouillette of York and many nieces and nephews.  

The funeral service was July 9 at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward with interment at the Minden Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Johnson family for future designation or the donor's choice. Condolences may be left for the family at /www.zabkafuneralhome.com.
