Bryce Lowell Clausen, of Utica, was born Nov. 16, 1939, to Hans and Retha (Miller) Clausen in Friend.

He graduated from Utica High School in 1958. Bryce served in the United States Army from Jan. 8, 1960 – Dec. 20, 1962. On June 6, 1964, Bryce was united in marriage to Karen vonFange at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Utica. He was a truck driver for Richter Bros., Ricenbaw and Crete Carrier. He was also an owner/operator for Dahlsten. He received the 1,000,000-mile safe driver award while with Dahlsten. Bryce ended his 38-year career as a grain hauler for Utica Co-op using his own tractor/trailer, retiring in 2012. Bryce enjoyed family vacations every summer and in his free time, he enjoyed listening to country music, watching old westerns, bird watching and being outside. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of Utica Jaycees, Utica Volunteer Fire Department and Utica V.F.W. Post #49. Bryce passed away Dec. 29, 2021, in Lincoln, at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 13 days.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Clausen, Utica,; son, Steve (Andrea) Clausen, Lincoln; daughter, Krista (Shadd) Rohrbough, Lincoln; brother, Neal (Donna) Clausen, Bloomington, Illinois; grandchildren, Kaleb Blakemore and Zach Clausen; great-granddaughter, Roayn Clausen; sisters-in-law, Sylvia vonFange, Austin, Texas, and Susan vonFange, Mt. Clemens, Michigan; brother-in-law, Howard (Rose) vonFange, Wichita, Kansas; nieces, nephews and cousins. Bryce was preceded in death by his parents, Hans and Retha Clausen.

Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan 6, at Volzke Funeral Home in Seward, with a gathering of family and friends will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The funeral service is at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7, at St. Paul Lutheran church in Utica with interment at the Utica Cemetery.
