Brendon Scott Riha was born June 23, 1993, in Lincoln, the son of Scott Allen Riha and Kathleen Marie Wescott and passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2020, in Kansas City.

Brendon grew up in Hoyt, Kansas, where he attended and graduated from Royal Valley High School with the Class of 2011. He then attended Washburn University and Washburn Technical School in Topeka. Brendon served in the Kansas Air National Guard in Security Forces for eight years. He was a member of the Kansas Air National Guard 190th Air Refueling Wing. Brendon was united in marriage to Shelley Prost on Oct. 18, 2015, in Topeka and to this union a daughter, Haydan, was born. The couple was anxiously awaiting the birth of their second daughter, Kennedy, in September. Brendon was employed by Homestead in Topeka at the time of his passing. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hunting and fishing. Brendon was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker and Kansas City Chiefs football fan.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Thomas Wescott.

Brendon is survived by his wife, Shelley; two daughters, Haydan and Kennedy Riha, of the home; his father, Scott Riha, and significant other, Cathy, Crete; his mother, Kathleen Meyers, Hoyt; sister, Whitney Riha, Seward; brother, Cody Wescott, Topeka; maternal grandmother, Carol Wescott, Hoyt; and paternal grandparents, William and Mary Riha, Seward.

A memorial service is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Seward. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Riha family for future designation. Condolences may be left for the family at www.zabkafuneralhome.com.
