Call meeting to order & announce Open Meetings Act is Posted 1.2. Public Notice as publicized per board policy The public notice was publicized in the Seward County Independent and posted at city hall, library and the courthouse. The public notice was dated January 6, 2021. 1.2.1. Oath of Office Shawn Svoboda read his oath of office. 1.3. Roll Call 1.3.1. Action to excuse board members if necessary 1.4. Pledge of Allegiance 1.5. Mission The school district of Seward--where every student, every day is a success--affirms that all students will have the skills to become productive and contributing members of a global community. In cooperation with family and community members, the district is committed to the development of each student academically, emotionally, socially, and physically. 1.6. Ella Gray, Sam Rojewski, Stephanie Nantkes, Rory Nolan, and Audrey Gray discussed LGBT+. 4. Reports 4.1. Administrator Reports Written reports were received from the administrators. 4.2. Student Board Report Emma Kuss presented Anna Hughes report due to Anna being gone. 4.3. Superintendent's Report Dr. Fields discussed legislative updates, hiring updates for our three open positions, commissioners report, CARES ACT, GEER and FEMA dollars. The national school board association conference is virtual this year. Dr. Fields also discussed staffing issues. 5. Discussion Items 5.1. 2019-2020 Annual Report Rule 10 requires the school district to do an annual report. This is a great way to keep our community informed. 6. Old Business 7. New Business 7.1. 2021-2022 School Calendar Motion to approve the 2021-2022 Seward Public Schools school calendar with a correction of winter break starting on December 22, 2021.
