Becky Ellen Prochnow was born Aug. 20, 1951, in Lexington, to James and Gwen (Nelson) Deselms and passed away Feb. 8, 2021, in Seward, at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 19 days. 

Becky grew up in Elwood, where she attended school and graduated from Elwood High School with the Class of 1968. She then attended Southeast Community College in Lincoln. She was a candy striper at Lincoln General Hospital where she met Dave Avery. She moved to Seward, where she worked at the Seward County Independent for 20 years in the advertising department. She later worked at Harris Labs in Lincoln for several years. 

On Aug. 5, 1995, Becky was united in marriage to Michael Prochnow in Waco. Becky loved her children and husband very much and she cherished family time when possible. She enjoyed traveling to the Black Hills and eating out for dinner. She loved to read and was a huge Stephen King fan.

Becky was preceded in death by her father, James Deselms; sister and brother-in-law, Penny and Ron Hill; her dog, Taz.

Survivors cherishing her memory include her husband, Michael Prochnow, Seward; children, Jessica and Thomas Yarmer, Lincoln, Vincent and Reagan Avery, Pasadena, California, Cindy Prochnow, Lincoln; grandson, Jordan Avery; mother, Gwen Deselms; sister, Laura Sheldon, Lincoln; her dog, Duke.
