AUGUST 2, 2022 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Boards of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED AUGUST 16, 2022 The Seward County Board of Commissioners convened on August 2, 2022 at 8:30 a.m. Present: Chairperson: John Culver Members: Misty Ahmic, Bob Vrbka, Ken Schmieding, Darrell Zabrocki County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer Jonathan Jank of the Seward County Chamber, and Harrison Helmer of BRIDGES, each gave an update of their organizations. Officials gave updates of their offices. Approved Seward County claims through July 22, 2022. Approved minutes of July 26, 2022. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Approved Sheriff’s Fee & Mileage Reports for May 2022 and June 2022. Approved request to place electronic sign on courthouse lawn for County Fair. Discussion was held on Infrastructure Related Grants and American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. Approved three documents regarding distress warrants. Approved Treasurer’s Listing of Assessment Errors for Fiscal Year 2021-2022. Approved E911 Director to sign service agreement to begin onboarding of software for the Seward County E911 Center. Approved Highway Supt. to publish bids to replace two bridges with box culverts. Approved starting wage for Legal Secretary II. Approved contract with Engineered Controls for new door lock access control panels at the Courthouse. Approved the use of ARPA funds to pay for project. Discussion was held on the county budget.
