Ashley Marie Jantze was born Sept. 25, 1985, in Seward, to Martin D. and Noreen D. (Hormandl) Jantze, the first of three children. She went to be with her Lord Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021, at her and Amanda’s apartment that they shared for six years. She went unexpectedly, but peacefully, passing from natural causes. At the time of her death, Ashley was 36 years young.

Ashley was a 2004 graduate of Milford High School and went on to attend Southeast Community College-Lincoln where she received a teaching degree, however, her heart was in retail. She worked at the family supermarket in Milford until it was sold in 2012. She was a dedicated Wal-Mart associate where she filled many various positions. Ashley was recently promoted to Bakery Team Leader and was extremely honored and looking forward in filling this roll.

Ashley’s younger years were filled with various activities. Such as 4-H showing cats, church activities, spending time with family and hanging out with her many friends. She especially enjoyed her time at her grandparent’s farm with her grandma Snooks and her two younger sisters and many cousins where they had horses, livestock and many pets. Ashley loved working with children, being at the family store with her grandpa, Maurice, her parents and the many employees and customers. She loved singing in the church’s youth group choir and playing the clarinet in her high school’s band. Her greatest joy in life was being the oldest sister to Manda and Kimberly and helping to care for her mama. She was an amazing daughter and devoted sister. Ashley also loved collecting elephants.

Ashley is survived by her father, Martin; sisters, Amanda and Kimberly; all of Milford; grandfathers, Maurice Jantze, Milford, Allen Hormandl, Sr., Wilber; foster grandfather, Larry TeSelle, Milford; many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends, especially her friend of 11 years, Rodney Sypho of Lincoln.

Ashley was preceded in death by her mother, Noreen, just weeks earlier; grandmothers, Alberta “Snooks” Jantze, Beverly TeSelle and Maxine Walrod; and a step-grandmother, Margaret “Peggy” Hormandl.

Ashley will be remembered for her loving heart as well as all the care and support she provided to her family and friends. She was an incredible blessing to all those who knew her. Ashley will be forever missed but her legacy will live on in all those who loved her. This isn’t goodbye but see you again soon. Fly high with our beloved mama, Sissy, until we meet again.

A celebration of her life will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, at the Milford United Methodist Church. A visitation is Wednesday, Dec. 8, from 1 to 8 p.m. with family receiving relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lauber Funeral Home, Milford. In liew of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the family for future designation. Interment is in Blue Mound Cemetery, Milford.
