APRIL 4, 2023 COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS Boards of Commissioner Meetings are held each Tuesday morning in the Seward County Courthouse at 9:00 a.m., except for the first Tuesday of each month when meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. Notice of each meeting is posted on the Courthouse bulletin board and on the Commissioner’s room door. The agenda for all meetings is kept continually current and is available for public inspection at the County Clerk’s Office during normal business hours. The agenda is held open until one business day prior to the meeting for appearance before the Board. The Board has the right to modify the agenda to include items of an emergency nature only at such public meeting. CLAIMS ALLOWED MAY 9, 2023 The Seward County Board of Commissioners convened on April 4, 2023 at 8:30 a.m. Present: Chairperson: John Culver Members: Misty Ahmic, Ken Schmieding, Darrell Zabrocki County Clerk: Sherry Schweitzer Absent: Member: Raegan Hain Harrison Helmer of the Seward County Chamber & Development Partnership and Laurie Sherman of BRIDGES gave updates of their organizations. Officials gave updates of their offices. Approved minutes of March 28, 2023. Commissioners gave reports of their activities. Awarded the bid for mowing abandoned cemeteries to AJ Buresh. Approved Public Transit Director to apply for assistance for Fiscal Year 2023-2025. Approved Jones Bank to pledge additional securities. Approved two short form plats in precincts E and J. Approved new Snow and Ice Removal policy for the Road Dept. Held Public Hearing and discussion for 1 & 6 year Road Plan. Approved temporary increase in credit card limit for E911 Dept. Discussions were held on budget recommendations, a conditional permit review, replacement of Emergency Operations Center computer, infrastructure related grants, and disbursement of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.
