A new canine-friendly service in town gives dogs and humans alike a getaway to a quaint mountain town without leaving Seward.

As of May 1, The Alps Bark Park, located near downtown Seward, offers an indoor dog park, grooming service and boarding for dogs of all shapes and sizes.

Owner Scott Dinslage said what elevates the facility beyond a traditional animal lodge is the attention to detail and design that gives guests the feel of a weekend retreat to the Swiss Alps.

“When you enter The Alps Bark Park, you enter a luxurious Swiss chalet in the Bernese Alps. Once inside the lobby, you can look out the window to your left and see the magnificence of the mountain range,” he said. “The chalet is spacious and warm and ready to check in all of our four-legged guests who are ready for an Alps adventure.”

The mountain range is panoramic photo looking out on the Swiss Alps spanning the entire length of the wall inside the dog park area.

Dinslage said, more importantly, the facility combines all needed amenities for pet care under the same roof, making it a one stop shop for dog owners.

“The Alps Bark Park brings much needed dog services to town. Never before have all dog services - grooming, overnight care, daycare, dog training, and self-serve dog washes, been conveniently located under one roof in Seward County,” he said. “Dog owners no longer have to waste time and energy driving from one location to another to find the services they need. The Alps has it all.”

Along with the amenities, Dinslage said, are safety and comfort features that fit the needs of each dog. Veterinary assistance is on-call 24/7, play areas are equipped with a relief area that can be cleaned to an underground drainage system, and guests are monitored via video 24 hours a day.

“We’ve done everything we can to ensure the safety of all our guests here at the Alps,” he said.

While the Seward facility has not yet opened, Dinslage said a host of owners have already expressed interest. Dinslage said some of the interest in the business comes from its previous location in Garland, but most stems from The Alps’ unique and all-encompassing offerings.

“The uniqueness of our facility will best promote our business,” he said. “We hope all of our adventurers will return home and tell their friends about their experiences at The Alps.”
