The Rev. Dr. Brian Friedrich left his post as president of Concordia University to become president of Concordia University St. Paul.

K’lena Schnack, a senior at Milford High, participated in the Rose Parade in her role as president of Key Club International.

Students at Milford Elementary moved into their new classrooms at the start of second semester.

A proposed extension of Karol Kay Boulevard in northeast Seward drew the ire of residents in the area whose property would be impacted by the street.

The 10th annual trivia night, hosted by St. John Lutheran School Parent-Teacher League, drew 56 teams.

Lt. Gov. Mike Foley was in Seward for the Ag Grown Gathering and participated in a panel discussion about agriculture-related topics.

Seward High School Key Club hosted its annual multicultural fair, an opportunity for high school students to share information about other countries with elementary students.

Jeaven Scdoris and Konner Schluckebier, both students at Milford, won the school’s first two state wrestling titles at the state wrestling tournament.

New flooring was installed at the Seward bandshell.

The Bee Buzz Run, a fundraiser for the States Ballroom in Bee, celebrated its 10th anniversary.

The coronavirus made its presence known in Seward County as schools went to online learning and events were cancelled.

Tyler and Erin Pulec’s home became the hub of a community drive to help those impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

A poster by Mackenna Wollenburg of Seward earned second place in the Nebraska Department of Agriculture’s poster contest.

Local stores continued to adapt to pandemic restrictions and changing demands of shoppers.

The first lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in the Four Corners Health district.

Nick Werman spent his days bringing cheer to Seward by driving around town playing music through speakers in the back of his pickup.
