If the Milford City Council passes a resolution to call for a special election and residents vote in favor of the bond issue, Carlson West Povondra Architects said the project could be completed along the following timeline:
• Dec. 5—council discusses resolution to call special election
• Dec. 22—Deadline to submit resolution to election commissioner to fulfill 50-day notice requirement, if the resolution passes
• Feb. 13, 2018—special election to vote for or against $800,000 bond
• February through May—three to four months for architect to complete design work and necessary documents for the building project
• May or June—Advertise for bids from general contractors and select a builder
• July—Contractor begins work with the goal of having the building constructed and closed in by late fall so that interior work can be finished during winter months
• Spring 2019—City staff and police department occupy the building
