If the Milford City Council passes a resolution to call for a special election and residents vote in favor of the bond issue, Carlson West Povondra Architects said the project could be completed along the following timeline:

Dec. 5—council discusses resolution to call special election

Dec. 22­—Deadline to submit resolution to election commissioner to fulfill 50-day notice requirement, if the resolution passes

Feb. 13, 2018—special election to vote for or against $800,000 bond

February through May—three to four months for architect to complete design work and necessary documents for the building project

May or June—Advertise for bids from general contractors and select a builder

July—Contractor begins work with the goal of having the building constructed and closed in by late fall so that interior work can be finished during winter months

Spring 2019—City staff and police department occupy the building
