Celebrate agriculture week

Posted

As a farmer/rancher, the food I grow/raise is the same food I feed my family. That is why I want you to know about an important celebration, National Agriculture Week, March 4-10.

Eating organic, natural or traditionally raised food is a personal choice. All can be safe, affordable and sustainable forms of growing food.

Advances in agricultural technology are what allow us to feed a planet that will grow from seven billion people to more than eight billion in the next 40 years.

As a farmer/rancher I’m asked to grow more food with less. I am able to do this because of technology.

Just like you can’t imagine not having your cell phone around to share a photo on Facebook or get that important call from work, I use my phone to check on my center pivots to make sure I’m not putting too much water on a field or to see if my kids made it home from school safely and they are doing their chores.

Let’s look at all of our options to make wise choices for our consumers and our world and let’s celebrate National Agriculture Week.
