Stanley H. Matzner

Stanley Howard Matzner was born May 20, 1946, to Carl and Irene (Suhr) Matzner in Stromsburg. He graduated from Gresham High School in Gresham. On Aug. 17, 1985, Stanley was united in marriage to Nancy Ann Morgan in York. Stanley served in the United States Army from May 13, 1968, to July 13, 1969. He farmed and did appliance repair for most of his life.

Stanley passed away May 3, 2018, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, at the age of 71 years, 11 months and 13 days.

He is survived by his son, Terry (Rhonda) Matzner of Yuma, Arizona; daughter, Sheri (Jon) Zulauf of Plymouth; stepson, Greg (Melissa) Cromer of Beatrice; stepdaughter, Crystal (Mark) Norvell of Geneva; brothers, Leon Matzner of Gresham and Dennis (Andrea) Matzner of Gresham; sisters, Joann (Ronald) Paulsen of Minden and Judy (Rick) Buresh of Lincoln; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Stanley was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Ann Matzner; parents, Carl and Irene Matzner; brother, Edward “Eddie” Matzner; and great-grandson, Cody. 

There will be no visitation or viewing. A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Volzke Funeral Home in Seward, with the Rev. Jon Dunbar officiating. Inurnment with full military honors will be in the Utica Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Matzner family or to the donor’s choice.
