LeRoy Albert Kilburn, Jr. was born May 2, 1955, in Lincoln to LeRoy Albert and Monna Lea (Sovereign) Kilburn, Sr. and passed away Sept. 18, 2019, in Lincoln at the age of 64 years, 4 months and 16 days.

LeRoy grew up in Lincoln where he attended school. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on June 25, 1976, and was honorably discharged on Dec. 23, 1977. LeRoy worked at various jobs in construction around the Lincoln area. He enjoyed watching The Price is Right, Gunsmoke and watching or listening to Nebraska Cornhusker football.

He was preceded in death by his parents and life-long companion, Anna Parrish.

LeRoy is survived by his daughter, Lisa Doeden and husband David of Seward; five grandchildren, Brittany and Breanna of Arizona, Bethany and Savannah of Seward and Malikai of Utica; three sisters,  Theresa Robison, Brenda Wade (Jerry Jetter) and Sheila Henery, all of Lincoln; uncle, Dwayne (Debbie) Sovereign of Lincoln; many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and his chosen family, Marcie Dieken; her daughter and granddaughters, Amanda Gladson and Hailey and Janessa Dieken and a host of friends.

A graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019, in the Omaha National Cemetery, 14250 Schram Road in Omaha, with military honors by the U.S. Army and Millard American Legion Post 374.
