James “Jim” J. Nave

James Joseph Nave was born Feb. 26, 1944, to August and Elizabeth (Hinesh) Nave in Lincoln. Jim attended high school in Pierce. He also attended trade school in Milford. On Aug. 20, 1971, Jim was united in marriage to Kay Huggins in Davey. He worked in farming and construction for most of his life.

In his free time he enjoyed fishing. He liked old cars and was a collector of many items. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren.

Jim passed away on July 4, 2019, in Seward at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 8 days.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Nave of Seward; son, Jason (Rebecca) Nave of Utica; daughter, Tracy Maynard of Lincoln; grandchildren, Allie Maynard, Paige Maynard, Austin Nave, Devin Nave, Peytn Nave and Blake Nave; brother, Joseph (MaryAnn) Phipps of Omaha; and sister, Diane Buhrig (Leroy) Sandeen of Fremont.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, August and Elizabeth Nave; sister, Sharon Shermer; and brother, Jerry Nave.

A graveside service and inurnment will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2019, in the Ulysses Cemetery, with Carol Albrecht officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the Nave family. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.volzkefuneralhome.com.
