Rima twists dreams into reality

With quick fingers and deft movements, Brandy Rima twists plastic balloons, transforming them into something different.

A giant cactus, glowing pillars, a pair of giant scissors—Rima can twist balloons into almost any shape, large or small, whatever her customers want.

“There truly is no limit to what you can do with balloons,” Rima said during the grand opening of her shop on Oct. 31.

As part of her balloon services, Rima offers delivery within 25 miles and is partering with Nebraska Bounce House to serve parties around Seward and surrounding areas.

Rima’s business, BBs, short for Brandy’s Balloons, opened Oct. 31, but it isn’t the only venture she’s operating out of her store at 649 Seward st.

When she isn’t transforming balloons, Rima plans to transform people into shape. In the back half of her store, Rima has set up an exercise studio where she does personal training as well as group fitness.

Rima holds a variety of instructor certifications including yoga for adults and children, barre, AcroFit, and PiYo, a pilates and yoga program.

“I’m kind of a fitness certification collector,” Rima said.

Rima hopes to foster friendship and empowerment within her studio, whether it’s through group fitness or individual training.

“People want to belong to something, and when you can put everybody at the same level and teach them to empower themselves and each other it brings about the best a person can be,” Rima said. “I love to see someone blossom by their own small wins.”

Rima’s balloon business hours are Monday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday through Sunday by appointment. For fitness schedule, Rima can be contacted directly.
