Diane Lynette Siefert was born March 30, 1943, to Henry and Stella (Daehling) Schaefer on a farm near Ulysses. She attended Marysville School in Staplehurst. She then attended Seward High School in Seward, graduating in 1961. On March 22, 1986, Diane was united in marriage to Marvin Siefert at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward. She was a hairdresser and beautician for 56 years, retiring in 2017.

Diane was a Husker football, basketball and Kansas City Royals baseball fan. In her free time she enjoyed playing pitch, bowling and going on winery tours. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.

Diane passed away on Sept. 7, 2018, in Seward at the age of 75 years, 5 months and 8 days.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin Siefert of Seward; sisters, Lavonne (Chuck) Evans of Utica and Romelle (Jack) Humphrey of Auburn; brothers-in-law, Richard Greenwood of Utica and Carl Siefert of Bennet; sister-in-law, Sandra Siefert of Bennet; aunt, Laura Daehling of Seward; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Stella Schaefer; and sister, Verdayne Greenwood.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, at St. John Lutheran Church in Seward, with the Rev. Scott Bruick, the Rev. David Rempfer and Deaconess Juanita Ebert officiating. Casketbearers are Alan Baldwin, Dan Pearson, Carl Siefert, Warren Humphrey, Gary Evans and Todd Greenwood. Honorary casketbearers are Bruce Faimon, Deb Faimon, Janet Baldwin, Randy Halder, Lori Shriner, Lorrie Pearson, Virginia Hughes, Wayne Chilcoat and Roberta Chilcoat. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Seward. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church, Lutheran Hour Ministries, Blue River Pet Rescue, Trinity Lutheran Church in Walton, St. John DVD Ministries or the donor’s choice.
