Crete High boys and girls track competed in the Friend Invite as well as the Yowell Invite last week.
Head boys’ track coach Paulvince Obuon said that he was happy with the effort, despite some of the results.
“Our kids competed hard despite some of the setbacks at the meet,” Obuon said.
Both boys and girls track competed at the Yowell Invite in York April 18.
Junior Carter Reckling jumped a season-best 6-6 to win the high jump. Fellow junior Morgan Maly swept the girls’ throws, winning the shot put at 39-1 and discus at 120-2.
Additional top Yowell Invite boys performers are: junior Jaedon Lothrop, first, shot put, and fifth, discus; Reckling, second, 200m; 4x400 relay team, second; sophomore Jakob Krieser, third, 110m hurdles; senior Vincent Lauenroth, fourth, 400m, and fourth, triple jump; junior Zach Fye, fourth, discus; and freshman Jaxon Weyand, fifth, 100m.
Some top Yowell Invite girls’ performers are: 4x400m relay team, second; junior Izzy Eltze, third, 200m, and third, triple jump; sophomore Hannah Newton, third, 400m, third, high jump; freshman Karlee Henning, third, long jump; senior Kayla Fitzgerald, fourth, long jump; freshman Jennifer Cardoso, fifth, 3200m; and 4x800 relay team, fifth.
Some top boys’ performers from the Friend Invite April 16 include: sophomore Nigel Bridger, second, 100m; sophomore Ethan Steer, second, 200m, fifth, high jump; sophomore Rodrigo Martinez, third, 100m; freshman Isaac Kracl, third, long jump, and fourth, 300m hurdles; 4x400m relay team, fourth.
Crete will host the Crete Invite April 25.
