Quilts of Valor presented to four area veterans

Four local veterans received Quilts of Valor at the Veterans Day Program in Crete Nov. 11. Each veteran was introduced by an American Legion Auxiliary officer and the quilts were then draped over the shoulders of each veteran by their spouse. Veterans who received quilts are, from left, Chuck Henning, Navy; Lyle Teel, Army; Melvin Znamenacek, Army; and Dennis McElravy, Navy. The Quilts of Valor Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to award heirloom quality quilts to veterans and service members touched by war.
