Karen Kay (Fryc) Studebaker, 75, of Seward, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Ridgewood Care Center in Seward. She was born June 7, 1948, to Fred and Marie Fryc of Garland.

Karen worked at Sundermann Home in Seward as a CNA, Concordia University, Seward, as a cook, and transported special needs adults to and from their work place, before retiring.

She was preceeded in death by parents, Fred and Marie Fryc, and brother, David Fryc. Karen is survived by her sons, Rod (wife Kelly) Hartshorn of Wichita, Kansas, Kelly (wife Sharon) Hartshorn of Utica, and Todd (wife Jami) Studebaker of Wentzville, Missouri; grandchildren, Riley (Amy) Hartshorn, Reed Hartshorn, Ross (Brianna) Hartshorn, Haley (Kyle) Koranda, Jesse Hartshorn, Hunter Hartshorn, Jayden Hartshorn, Dominic (Hannah) Studebaker, Kris (Megan) Studebaker, Raiden (Caleb) Diaz, Barret Studebaker;  eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Pat Sitler of Garland, Carol (Gene) Mayfield of Seward and several nieces and nephews.

A private family funeral service has been planned. Arrangements by Volzke Funeral Home.
