The Centennial track team sent six athletes to the state track and field championships May 22 and 23 at Omaha Burke, and four brought home state medals.
Tanner Barth finished third in the Class C boys' shot put with a throw of 52-9.5. Kyle Gierhan was fourth in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 14-0. Stephen Yamber earned a pair of seventh places, clearing 6-0 in the high jump to tie for the spot and jumping 43-8 in the triple jump.
In the girls' competitions, Hannah Tomes tied for seventh in the pole vault, clearing 9-6. Krysta Haberman competed in the discus but finished out of the medals with a throw of 96-6. Cacey Vavra was part of the high jump field but did not make opening height.
