Carnival changes location

In response to a request for a higher level of traffic for the carnival, a new site/location has been established for the carnival for the Seward Fourth of July Celebration. The carnival will be located on Seventh Street between Bradford Street and Jackson Avenue for July 3 and 4. It was originally scheduled for the County Fairgrounds, but the committee felt a downtown site would warrant more traffic for the carnival. The carnival is River City Carnival of St. Paul.

Tiny Animal House

Seward will host the Creative Animal Foundation’s tiny house July 4.

The foundation’s goal is to help people make sustainable choices where they live, work and play. Members have challenged themselves to make those choices every day, too, on the Creative Animal Tour, roaming the U.S. in a 200-square-foot tiny house on wheels made of reclaimed barn wood.

The house will be in front of the courthouse on July 4 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and then appear in the annual parade.
