SHS girls end season
Stephanie Croston
The Seward girls' soccer team faced York for the third time this season and lost 5-0 April 28. The game was the opening round of district play. "Today, York just played all-around better soccer than we did," Coach Kelly Shaffer said. The girls closed the regular season April 22 with a 3-0 loss to Columbus Lakeview. "Overall we played well," Shaffer said. "The girls coming off the bench really stepped up and did a good job." She said the score did not reflect the way the Jays played. Shaffer said she is looking forward to upcoming seasons. "Our record this year doesn't reflect what we're hoping for in seasons to come," she said. "We're starting to build a strong foundation for seasons in the future." The Jays will graduate two seniors-Hailey Behlen and Dani Svoboda.
