After suffering a stroke Jan. 10, Seward County Clerk Sherry Schweitzer is recovering in Lincoln.
Schweitzer, 49, was at Neutral Groundz with friends for a Bible study when she fell ill.
She was taken by private vehicle to Seward Memorial Hospital and then life-flighted to BryanLGH East in Lincoln, her husband, Brent Schweitzer, said.
"It could've been worse," he said.
The cause of the stroke is still unknown, and Sherry is still undergoing tests. Brent said she will be transferred to Madonna Rehabilitation Center in Lincoln for rehab.
Sherry can talk, but her left side and her face are numb, Brent said.
Originally, the doctors thought Sherry had a hole in her heart, but she does not.
She has developed anemia, however, Brent said.
He said she is in good spirits, and the family-Brooke, Britney and Keaton-is doing as well as can be expected.
Brooke is a student at Nebraska Wesleyan University, Britney attends Concordia University while Keaton is a student at Milford High School.
