Cattle Bank in Lincoln robbed

The Lincoln branch of Cattle National Bank and Trust, located on South Coddington Avenue and West A Street, was robbed July 10. Lincoln police are still investigating as of press time.


    The Lincoln branch of the Cattle National Bank and Trust Company, located in a strip mall at South Coddington Avenue and West A Street, was robbed July 10 when a man used a note to demand money.
     According to the Lincoln Police Department, no weapon was visible. No customers were in the bank at the time of the robbery, and no one was injured.
     The police were notified at 10:46 a.m. They were looking for a mid-1990s sport-utility vehicle that was seen on the outside surveillance video.
     The robber was described as a 6-foot-tall, 180-pound black man, 28 to 32 years old and wearing a purple and gold baseball cap, light or faded jeans and a dark T-shirt and black tennis shoes.
     Officer Katherine Finnell of the Lincoln Police Department said they are still actively investigating the crime and are following up on any leads and suspects.
     Ryne Seaman, president, chief executive officer and chief financial officer of the Cattle National Bank, released the following statement July 10:
     "We are pleased that no one was hurt during the robbery incident this morning at our Lincoln branch and we are impressed by the professionalism of our employees during this stressful situation. Those involved followed proper policies and procedures and assisted law enforcement professionals in their pursuit to apprehend the suspect.
     "Furthermore, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to customers, friends and business associates in both Lincoln and Seward that have contacted us out of concern for the well being of our fellow employees. Our concern and focus is for the safety and well being of coworkers, customers and residents within the area during a criminal incident such as this."
