Visitors to the North Seward Cemetery have a new resource available. A directory is now located southeast of the main building. Maps of the cemetery and a listing of those buried there will help visitors find their loved ones. Steve Ferguson, city parks and recreation supervisor, said the cemetery board had looked at a possible directory for years. Former City Public Works Supervisor Cal Nordmeyer encouraged the city to take the project on. Blue Valley Contracting built the directory wall, and Mike Hanson Construction added the roof, Ferguson said. The project cost $3,500, he said. Terri Christensen used a computer-aided drafting program to design the new addition and to draw the maps for the directory. Ron Fritz made the metal box that houses the cemetery listing, and Frank Reynolds and Gene Foltz installed everything. "A lot have used it already," Ferguson said. The city is planning a similar project for Greenwood Cemetery.
