New time capsule in courthouse

    The Seward County Courthouse Anniversary Committee installed a new time capsule on the northeast corner of the courthouse Sept. 30. The capsule was set behind a rededicated stone from the Freemasons of Nebraska. The new stone was dedicated Sept. 18, 2005, during the 100th anniversary celebration of the courthouse.
     The new capsule contains a(n):
     - welcome speech from Seward County Commissioner Chairperson Joe Ruzicka;
     - proclamation proclaiming Sept. 18, 2005, as a day of celebration in honor of the 100th anniversary of the courthouse;
     - address to commemorate the anniversary by Alan Gless, District Court Judge;
     - "A History of the Seward County Courthouse" booklet dated July 4, 1995;
     - "A History of the Seward County Courthouse" booklet dated July 4, 2005 (for the 100th anniversary);
     - "Seward County Courthouse - 100 years of service" special edition of the Seward County Independent and Milford Times newspapers dated Sept. 14, 2005;
     - invitation to the rededication of the courthouse; rededication program pamphlet;
     - "My Courthouse Memories," the grand prize-winning essay by Katie DeJong in the contest sponsored by the Seward County Visitors Committee;
     - anniversary committee member badge;
     - participant badge;
     - invitation poster;
     - poster of memoribilia for sale;
     - poster of what lies in the cornerstone laid in 1905;
     - Seward County Independent photo section of the celebration dated Sept. 21, 2005;
     - DVD of the rededication program;
     - CD of photos taken by Ben Hughes;
     - "The Interchange," a magazine published by Nebraska Intergovernmental Risk Management Association;
     - cookbook commemorating the anniversary;
     - commemorative T-shirt;
     - two commemorative tokens;
     - miniature wooden courthouse silhouette;
     - two U.S. minted Nebraska quarter proof sets;
     - courthouse Christmas ornament;
     - 2005 Amercian Eagle silver dollar;
     - Oliver Lodge No. 38, A.F. & A.M. meeting minutes of Sept. 20, 1905;
     - 2005 lodge memberships for area Masonic lodges;
     - Grand Lodge A.F. and A.M. of Nebraska 148th annual communications proceedings;
